Visit Charminar: Undeniably the most prominent landmark of Hyderabad, Charminar has rightly been called as ‘Arc de Triomphe of the East’. It is also called as the ‘Mosque of the four minarets’. Visit Badshahi Ashurkhana: Badshahi Ashurkhana is a mourning place for Shias during the festival of Muharram near Charminar in Hyderabad, India. It is constructed in memory of martyrdom of Imam Hussain. Ashurkhana a public place where the Shias congregate and mourn during Muharram.

Visit Hussain Sagar Lake: One of the largest manmade lakes of Hyderabad, it connects the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. Hussain Sagar was constructed on a tributary of the Musi River by an engineer Hussain Shah Wahi during Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah’s reign in 1562.

Makkah Masjid- Mecca Masjid, also Makkah Masjid, is one of the oldest mosques in Hyderabad, Telangana in India, and it is one of the largest masajids in India. Also visit Darul Shifa Jama Masjid.

Later see Naubat Pahad and also visit Birla Mandir- A couple of small rocky hillocks in the middle of Hyderabad beside the Hussain Sagar Lake are known as Naubat Pahad and 'Kala Pahad'. Pahad means 'hill' and Naubat means 'drum'. It is said that the Mughals used to beat large drums to announce official proclamations from Naubat Pahad. The Birla temple is located at the top of a 280 feet tall hill of Naubat Pahad. The Birla Mandir provides not only the view but also the unruffled tranquility because the temple is entirely devoid of the sound of bells.

Qutub Shahi Tombs: Erected in the memory of the departed kings of Golconda, they are magnificent monuments that have withstood the test of time and nature’s vagaries. They are located one kilometer north of Golconda Fort’s called Banjara Darwaza. They are imposing marvels of architectural excellence that stand as the reminders of the glory of Golconda kings who are buried at the same spot.

Golconda Fort (The Untouched Grandeur of India): An impressive structure, which once, would have bewitched every onlooker, stands majestically even today. Visit Gulbarga Fort: It was built after the decline of the Chalukyas in 12th Century by Raja Gulchand and it was expanded and improved to its grandest by Bahamani Sultans in the 14th Century. The structure is one of the earliest examples of the cross between Indian and Persian architectural styles and built using lime mortar and granite.

Sharan Basaveshwara Temple: It was built in the 12th century by the Lingayat Saint Sharan Basaveshwara famous Hindu philosopher. The temple is built in a distinctive style unlike any other 12th century temples.

Hazrat Khwaja Bande Nawaz: The mausoleum of Khwaja Bande Nawaz, a Sufi saint of the Chisti order is one of the famous places of Gulbarga. The structure of the mosque is built in a cross of Indian & Persian style. It contains a library of with over 10,000 books.

Koranti Hanuman Temple: The temple is new compared to other sightseeing places. Built-in 1957, this temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman the mighty monkey deity. The temple is famous for its massive idol of Lord Hanuman.

The museum mainly comprises of ancient stones, tools, and sculptures. One can find a range of architectural members, inscriptions, hero stones, and carvings datable from the 6th to the 16th century.

Visit Badami Fort: Badami Fort is a renowned archaeological site in Badami. It is located on top of a hill that stands at a distance of about 2 km from the main town of Badami in the Bagalkot district of Karnataka. The origin of the fort dates back to 543 AD. The ancient fort was built by the Chalukyan King Pulakeshi.

Visit the Cave Temple: Located in a valley of rugged red sandstone, surrounding the Agastya Lake, Badami (formerly known as Vatapi) is an archaeological delight owing to its beautifully crafted sandstone cave temples, fortresses and carvings.

Aihole Temple: Known as the cradle of temple architecture, Aihole is an experience of time traveling, by all means. Temples from the fifth century to the fourteenth century stand no further than a few yards from another, taking you through a fascinating, evolutionary passage of art and architecture.

Pattadakkal: UNESCO World Heritage Site: Resting on the banks of River Malaprabha, it boasts of a rich legacy dates back to the 4th century. Excavations have revealed that the region was originally called Raktapura and was under the control of the Badami Chalukyas. The various temples her that one must visit are Jain temple, Papanatha temple, Galaganath temple, and Sangameshwara temple.

Visit Sasivekalu Ganesh Temple (Mustard Temple): One of the fine specimen of Hampi is Sasivekalu Ganesha temple. Sasivekalu Ganesha Temple is a huge statue of Lord Ganesha, carved out of a single block of rock. It is one of the major landmarks in Hampi. Krishna Temple: The Krishna Temple in Hampi, Karnataka is a notable one with unique architecture. This temple is dedicated to Lord Balakrishna, the form of Lord Krishna when he was an infant.The Krishna Temple is also among the Group of Monuments which is currently listed as a part of the World Heritage Monuments by the UNESCO.

Lakshmi Narsimha Statue: The Lakshmi Narasimha statue is one of the most imposing sculptures found in the ruined town of Hampi. The specialty of the sculpture is that it is the largest monolith statue in Hampi. It is one of the finest existing samples of the Vijayanagara style of architecture.

Badavi Linga Temple: Badavilinga Temple is a wonderful temple in Hampi dedicated to Lord Shiva. The Hindu deity Shiva is worshipped in the form of a Linga in this temple. The Badavilinga Temple in Hampi has the largest monolithic Shiva Linga in Hampi. The Shiva Linga has a three eye mark drawn on it in line carving. The three eye mark depicts the three eyes of Lord Shiva.

Akka Tangi Gudda (Sister Stone): Akka Tangi Gudda or Akka Thangi Gudda is a formation of two gigantic rocks. Akka Tangi Gudda is the name given to two giant boulders that are in a leaning position against each other. As a result of their leaning, the two boulders make a huge archway like formation. One can actually pass under the archway.

Elephant’s Stable: The Elephant Stable in Hampi is an impressive structure that was used to provide shelter for the royal elephants of the Vijayanagar Empire. The elaborate structure indicates the importance attached to the royal elephants during those days. It also suggests towards the amazing craftsmanship of the artisans of that era.

Stone Chariot: The chariot is actually a shrine dedicated to Garuda, built inside the Vittala Temple Complex. The massive sculpture of Garuda, Lord Vishnu’s escort once was seated atop the chariot but it is empty at the present date.

Lal Bagh Botanical Garden: A heaven for all nature lovers, Lal Bagh covers an area 240 acres in the heart of the city and has nearly 1,854 species of plants. It was commissioned by Hyder Ali in 1760 and completed by his son Tipu Sultan. The garden features rare plants of French, Persian and Afghani origin and has attained the status of a Government Botanical Garden. The Lal Bagh Rock which is over 3000 million years old is found here and is a major tourist attraction.
